WHAT I DO
I work with busy, professional couples to create luxurious weddings infused with the culture and charm of New Orleans. The process is a collaboration, as every wedding is unique and should reflect the couple’s tastes, traditions and story.
Planning a wedding shouldn’t be stressful. My job is to make the process as relaxed and fun as possible so you can enjoy the experience of being engaged and designing a day that you and your guests will never forget.
We start off with a series of detailed conversations to give me a sense of what kind of wedding experience you want for yourselves and your guests: Do you want a second-line parade? Do you want a church wedding, or a non-religious ceremony in a historic venue or outdoors? A seated dinner or reception-style? I have relationships with the best vendors in the city – venues, florists, bakeries, caterers, bands, deejays, etc. – which can streamline the process and give couples good options right from the start.
FULL SERVICE PLANNING, Design & Management
I offer two levels of planning. For full service planning, I limit myself to only a handful of couples per year. I get to know the couples personally in order to create an event based on their interests. I handle the design and coordination of your wedding from start to finish.
This process generally includes:
Scouting and negotiating hotel room blocks
Scouting event locations
Event design and floor plans
Floral, lighting and custom décor
Linen and furniture rentals
Designing food and beverage menus
Entertainment and talent booking
Event coordination and on-site management
Hair and make-up for bridal party
Invitations and printed materials
Permitting and police escort for second-line parades
Photography and video production
Pyrotechnics (if requested!)
Custom wedding cake and dessert buffets
Security and event staffing
Sound and audio/visual
Tenting, staging and set design
On average, typical clientele has a wedding budget of at least $450 per guest and a design and management budget of $10,500 or more. However, we love and welcome celebrations of all sizes, budgets, and styles!
Month-Of Event Management
Month-of event management is for couples that prefer to deal with the design and vendor negotiations themselves. Three to four weeks before the wedding, all contracts and other details are turned over to me; I check to make sure everything has been taken care of and thought through. I then confirm all vendors, create wedding schedules for guests and production schedules for vendors, hire any additional staff and execute and manage all the details the day of the event for as many hours as necessary.
Month of Planning prices range between $3,000 and $4,000 depending on the scope of the event.
HOw It Works
After our initial contact, I will send you specific questions to get a better understanding of your specific needs. Then we’ll schedule a video call to discuss your vision for your wedding or event. Once we’ve established that we’re a good match, we’ll get started!
The Budget Reality Check
It is important to determine a realistic budget at the start of the planning process. Most couples underestimate the cost of producing a wedding or an event. I will create an estimated budget based on your vision prior to any vendor contracts being signed just to make sure you have a clear picture of the investment you’ll be making in your event. Weddings can cost as little or as much as your budget allows. The overall cost can vary greatly depending on your guest count, event length and the specifics of menus, florals, entertainment, etc. Once a couple has contracted with me, I help guide you to decisions in each area using your budget as a framework.
Matching Up The Desired Date + Venue
Selecting the venue for your ceremony and/or reception is, obviously, a critical decision. Availability of preferred venues can affect the date of the wedding, and vice versa, so these two decisions must be made in conjunction with one another. They are the foundation for the entire event.
I’ll seek out venues that reflect your personalities, vision and budget – but I will not overwhelm you with choices! If your schedule allows, I’ll arrange site visits so we can all take a look at the venues and determine which one most feels like you.
Choosing Your Vendors Carefully
There are so many “professionals” for every imaginable wedding service online; the options may seem endless and overwhelming. Fortunately, I’ve done all the tedious work of sorting through the various vendors; I only partner with vendors who meet my high standards and have a proven track record of excellent, dependable service. Some vendors, such as florists, have a specific aesthetic. Once we’ve crafted your overall vision for your event, I’ll recommend vendors that best suit your needs.
Details, details, details!
The details make all the difference! I’ll guide you through each phase of the planning, letting you know what needs to be done and when. And I’ll be there on your big day to ensure it all goes smoothly so you can just enjoy every moment.
