Meet Mary Spera
I was raised in Philadelphia and spent my teenage years in Kansas City. College lured me to New Orleans, where I eventually fell in love and married a native New Orleanian.
When I’m not planning events I am spending time with my family, catching up with friends, zenning out in a yoga studio or escaping to our home away from home in South Walton County, Florida.
Prior to launching my own company, I spent 10 years designing, planning and managing corporate events for the NFL, Microsoft, Visa, Volkswagen, Samsung, AT&T and many others. The vast majority of these events took place in cities across the United States, as well as in Beijing and London. I am an expert on New Orleans, but I love traveling and producing events in new places as a destination wedding planner. Sometimes a space needs a little fresh perspective!
From Corporate Event Planner To Wedding Planner
When I was a corporate event manager, I swore I would never do weddings. Ever. I thought it would be too much drama and too emotional. But the opportunity to plan weddings kept popping up. So, I decided to give it a whirl. Well, I love it! And as referrals started rolling in, I realized most of my presumptions about wedding planning were wrong. It is an absolute pleasure to help orchestrate such an exciting and important day, and my clients often become good friends.
I work with a select number of brides and grooms per year, which allows me to provide personalized, exceptional service to each and every one. My years in corporate event planning prepared me for the pressures and the curve balls that inevitably pop up – including having to work around a hurricane or two!
